Update on Executive Session Board Meetings
It has come to the attention of the board that some ITPA members feel the Executive Session Board Meetings will keep members in the dark regarding ITPA decisions. This is not the case. Harrison Coerver, a top association consultant who facilitated ITPA's March 2015 Strategic Planning Meeting, recommended restructuring board meetings and member feedback. To create more transparency and more member input, the ITPA is instituting an Annual General Meeting (AGM). In this meeting, ITPA metrics will be discussed: membership, initiatives, and financials. In addition, members will be able to ask questions and give input. While it's true board meetings will be for board members, its after direct input from membership in the AGM.
This new process is not cast in stone. If the AGM and Executive Session does not meet the needs of the membership, the ITPA has the option of doing meetings the former way. As volunteers of the association and out of a desire to serve our industry, we want the best for the organization. We will discuss the process in more detail at the AGM and get your direct feedback. We're confident you will like the new format.
