Versluis, Cornelius Cornelius "Chip" Versluis, beloved husband, father and rock of our family, age 80, of Jenison went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, May 22, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius Sr. and Elizabeth Versluis, his brother Robert Versluis and son Robert "Bobby" Versluis. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Kay Versluis (Boyink); his children Cornelius "Chip" (Debrah) Versluis, Traci (Jeffrey) Lark, Scott Versluis, Matthew (Christy) Haviland and David Haviland; grandchildren Christina (Kevin) Williams, Neal (Sarah) Versluis, Corey (Emilee) Lark, Holli (CJ) Bol, Ben Versluis, Travis (Rachel) Lark, Noah Versluis, Olivia Haviland and Jacob Haviland; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Luanne Haaga and Sharon Preyss; and sister-in-law Patricia Versluis and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Chip touched many lives with his quick wit, generosity and love of life. He served as Vice President and President of Neal's Truck Parts for 60 years and was widely known and well respected in the industry. Chip had a special connection with children and always brought a smile to their faces with his story telling and gift giving. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Thursday, May 26 at the First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson Ave, Grandville with Pastor Matt Cook officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday from 2 - 4 pm and 6 8 pm at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW and one hour prior to services Thursday at church. The family welcomes memories and messages in their online guest book at www.cookcares.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Meijer Heart Center or the American Cancer Society.
