We will be staying at the gorgeous Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX. During the meeting weekend we will be golfing at the La Cantera Resort, hearing from DeDe Murcer Moffet an International Management Speaker and Business Coach, and visiting the Mission San Jose. ITPA New Logo

We want to give ITPA a new look. ITPA was started in 1974 and it is time to update our logo. We want you to have a say in which design we pick. Please take a minute to take our survey and let us know which logo you like best.

TruckPro Acquires 11 Locations

TruckPro has purchased Power Train,
a company that specializes in aftermarket heavy duty truck parts, fleet maintenance, and
mobile repair services in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. By acquiring Power Train's 11
locations, TruckPro now has over 150 retail and service locations across the United States and Canada. Lyle Bass and Joe Leffel will continue
to run the former Power Train locations while also investing in the combined enterprise.

Leffel commented that "The combination of Power Train and TruckPro represents a terrific combination for our customers, associates, and suppliers."

Bill to Exempt Gliders From Emissions
Regulations Likely Won't Pass

Bill H.R. 2822 contains an amendment that calls for the Environmental Protection
Agency to not use funds in the implementation or enforcement of greenhouse gas regulations on glider kits for one year. The American Truck Dealers predicts that it will not pass because H.R.2822  was pulled from the House floor on account of an unrelated issue. The bill proposed to appropriate $30.17 billion, for fiscal year 2016,  for the EPA and other agencies.                            Click here for the full story

Honoring Service

We have two board members retiring. Jake Rea from Michigan Truck Parts has served two terms and served two years as chairman. Doug Geiger from LKQ Geiger Truck Parts has served two terms. Mr. Rea and Mr. Geiger have been instrumental in transforming the association into a modern professional organization. They will be missed.

Gerard Zentner from Capital Gear will become Chairman and Paul Cipolla from American Truck Sales & Salvage has been named Vice-Chairman.

We applaud these men for their service.

Election by Acclamation

The nominating committee looked to our committees (as our strategic planning states) and recognized the work Sarah Anderson and Rudy Niswanger have contributed to the convention committee. Therefore, the nominating committee selected these two for the nomination. All effort has been made to solicit other nominees, through the mechanism provided in the Bylaws, for the board of directors. When positions on our board have only one nominee, election by acclamation will take affect instead of voting by ballot.

Below is the ITPA Bylaw regarding rules of order and Roberts Rule of Order regarding elections. ITPA Bylaws: ARTICLE IX - RULES OF ORDER
All meetings shall be conducted under the rules prescribed in Robert's Rules of Order.
Roberts Rule of Order: XII. ELECTIONS:
C. Voting is usually done by voice, by roll call, by ballot, or by "acclamation" (when only
one candidate has been nominated).

Sarah Anderson

In June of 2004, I began my career at Anderson Brothers not knowing a thing about the truck parts industry. By working in all the different departments including shipping/receiving, the shop, receptionist, and accounts receivable, I got to know the industry and my family business from the top to bottom. As I moved into a management role and saw an opportunity for the growth of our business, I wanted to get Anderson Brothers more involved in the rebuilder world. In 2013, Anderson Brothers applied for the ITPA and we went to HDAW for the first time in over 10 years. After my father, John Anderson, retired in June of this year, I became President of Anderson Brothers. I look forward to continuing to be more and more involved in the truck parts industry and leading our company into the future.

Rudy Niswanger

Rudy was born and raised in Monroe, LA. He is a graduate of Ouachita Christian School and of Louisiana State University with a degree in Pre-Med and Business.

At LSU, Rudy was one of the most decorated student-athletes in LSU. He was named the recipient of the McWorter Award as the SEC's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and received many other academic awards. He was a two-time First Team Academic All-American and a three-year starter on the offensive line for the Tigers. Following his graduation from LSU, Rudy played for the Kansas City Chiefs for five seasons. While in Kansas City, Rudy and his wife, Patricia participated in several charitable efforts. They also currently serve as board members of the Pro Athletes Outreach ministry organization.

Since retiring from the NFL, he currently serves as the third generation owner and CEO of The Joe Gear Companies, which is comprised of: Consolidated Truck Parts & Service (Monroe and Shreveport), Gear and Axle, MTP Drivetrain Services, Power Generation USA, and JAT Power South America.

He and his wife Patricia have four children: Emory, and twins Ava Grace and John Carter and Noah and they attend Edgewood Reformed Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA.

Virtual Wage and Hour Compliance Assessment

Bill Ford of Sesco has alerted us that President Obama, by Executive Order, plans to increase the guaranteed minimum salary level for the Executive, Administrative, and Professional positions from $455 a week to an estimated $970. The new regulations will become effective Jan 1, 2016.  This increase will impact the profitability of our ITPA members. Because of this, Sesco has developed a new service program and
special pricing for the International Truck Parts Association.
